RUMOR: Ceres La Salle FC to join a Football League abroad

After few matches in the UFL cup 2016 Ceres La Salle FC is considering joining a football league in a different country in Asia.

Why would Ceres consider playing abroad?

First, they have assembled a very strong team mixed with some players that were already playing in a world-class league and they believe the competition in the UFL would not do the team and players any good in their AFC competition with only one or two teams capable of giving them a match.

Second, most of the players still have a long career ahead of them and playing in a league that does not have a high reputation would surely keep them away from joining bigger clubs in the future. In one of his interviews, Stephan Schrock was thinking of adjusting to the UFL level and this would affect him as a player after his loan spell, Ceres FC in the AFC competition and Azkals in the future.

Lastly, Ceres FC would make more money should they decide to join a league abroard. They would attract more world-class players in the club and would sale their players with bigger fee because of the value of the league.  Almost everyone in the Philippines would be Ceres fan and would draw more players in their youth level.

Should the league remain like the ongoing UFL Cup 2016 and Ceres FC decide to stay, it is almost certain that they would struggle in the international level and Azkals would suffer especially now that most of the Azkal players are playing in the league.

Toothless Passargad conceded 7 again as Castiella and Taj Minniecon scored hat tricks

After Passargad got beaten 7:0 in their first game against Global FC, you would have thought they have learned their lesson but it was different for a team that has no power going forward.

Loyola came in with one intention! Win against a team that has no attacking threat and we will put our campaign on track after the loss to Ceres FC. The team pressed high up and forced Passargad to play at own half. In the 15 minutes Loyoya’s pressure was reward as Casttiella made no mistake in netting home the first goal when he was left to face the Passargad goalkeeper in a 1v1 situation. The team settle when Minniecon doubled the lead 2 minutes later from the edge of the box. The scoring continued as Kouichi Belgria who was busy at the left flank found the inform Castiella for an easy finish. At 39 minutes Minniecon was also found in the box and he made no mistake in tapping home his second goal of the day and the first half ended 4:0.

The second have started and John De Castro scored the first and only goal so far in UFL Cup 2016 for Passargad at 44 minutes as Loyola were becoming too comfortable in their lead from half time. This sparks another pressure from Loyola and Minniecon completed his hat trick with a brilliant finish at 51 minutes. James Younghusband who was the central defender for the night got his name in the score shit when he nodded home from a free kick after a sluggish defending from Passargad to further extend his teams advantage. Castiella who was named the man of the match completed his hat trick at 55 minutes.

With lots of time still left to play, Passargad worked hard to make sure that they do not concede more than how they are allowed to concede. Loyola mounted pressure in search for more goals but the luck was gone and the game ended 7:1 in favor of Loyola Meralco Sparks FC.

Loyola went home with lots of positives while Passargad went with a rethink.

Nomads FC chased shadows as Ceres FC scored 15 goals in UFL Cup 2016

The 15:0 game that saw Martin Steuble and Jeong Woo Lee scored hat trick started with Ceres FC keeping possession while Nomads applied physical and direct marking.

After seeing the approach of Nomads, Ceres stepped up their physical aspect of the game and at 3 minutes Gallardo Valdes scored the opening goal after a series of short combination passes for the men on white and green stripes to realize the task ahead of them for the 90 minutes.

Nomads frustrated Ceres FC after the first goal with their deep lying defense for a while but goals started coming like rain when Bienvenido Maranon found the net at 22 minutes with a beautiful header and Stephan Shrock registered another at 27 minutes. The game went far beyond Nomads when Patrick Reichelt scored at 34, Martin Steuble at 36, Carli de Murga at 39 and Gallardo Valdes at 40 minutes to end the half time with 9:0 lead.

Nomads FC team did not really have proper understanding between them as they played like a pick up game with some veterans working hard to keep up with the pace of the game but were physically exhausted before the end of the half. Some players got injured and were carried out on stretcher because of the force they applied to keep up with Ceres constant pressure.

The second period started and Nomads came in with some intentions but Ceres did not give them time to organize as they hipped more misery on the team and the coach who was standing on the technical line with folded arms in disbelieve as six more goals were flying into their net in different styles.

Nomads had a chance but were unlucky to see their only consolation goal disallowed for offside after Ceres FC goalkeeper’s blunder in the second half. They had another chance but the player who should have done better played it wide.

Martin Steuble and Stephan Shrock jointly collected the man of the match after the wonderful display by the pair.

Ceres played a beautiful game but needs more challenge if they are to succeed in AFC competition.

Nomads have now conceded 19 goals in 2 matches in this UFL Cup 2016. A record in which only Passargad FC is keeping pace with them on 14 goals in 2 matches.

Kouassi shines as Global FC battled to victory against Green Archers United FC

Global 2:1 Green Archers United

Both teams walked into the pitch with Green Archers wearing their white long sleeves while Global were on their all blue short sleeves jerseys!

Global FC lined up in a 4:2:3:1 formation and changed to 3:2:3:2. Green Archers lined up in a 4:3:3 formation during attack and dropped to a 4:5:1 when defending.

The game started with Global FC sending a brilliant long lofted pass to Minegishi Hikaru who was left a lone to face the Archers goalkeeper in a 1v1 situation but he squandered the chance in the first 20 seconds for a team that was looking to settle early in the game. Global kept threatening the Archers defensive line with long pass to Minegishi but they quickly recognized the tactics and were able to neutralize the threat of the striker and kept him quite for the remaining period of his game.

Archers took over as the physical play of the midfielders and Caligdongs ability to keep hold of the ball left Global that likes to play from the center of the filed confused. The Archers front three of Gary Epesso, Ariola Jimuel and Melliza Jesus became a constant threat to Global defense and it was no surprise that the goal finally came when Gary Epesso nodded home a beautiful header in the 27 minutes of play.

The constant pressure from Green Archers remained and should have been 3:0 up before half time.

Global FC coach was forced to make two beautiful substitutions that brought about the victory for Global at the beginning of the second half when the defender Bateau Sean and the Striker Kouassi Koffi who was named the man of the match came into the game. Kouassi brought in a new spirit into the team and Elhabib Izzeldin as they were swapping positions constantly. Their intensity increased when the Archers front 3 were all out and Global defenders were able to press higher. The pressure mounted on Archers as Global missed chances. The break through came in the 82 minutes when Matt Hartmann netted the free kick at the edge of the 18 yard box to make it 1:1.

At 83 minutes the Archers defender Ebanda William was shown a red card after receiving his second yellow card in the game and that opened more doors for Global FC.

The highlight of it all was when Kouassi’s left footed thunderbolt goal that almost cut the net at 90+4 minutes when everyone though the game was over gave Global a much-needed 2:1 victory over Green Archers United.

It was a painful loss for Animo but you play to inspire!

The game ended with Green Archers having 5 yellow cards and 1 red card while Global got 2 yellow cards.
Short on goals: Global 17, Green Archers 5
Short on Target: Global 6, Green Archers 3
Corners: Global 6, Green Archers 5
Offside: Global 3, Green Archers 5
Fouls: Global 16, Green Archers 15
Possession: Global %49, Green Archers %51

Ceres De La Sale FC 1:2 Loyola Meralco Spaks FC UFL cup 2016

The Derby game between Loyola Meralco Spaks FC and Ceres De La Sale FC in the #UFLCup2016 that ended 2:1 in favor of Ceres FC lived up to the expectation! It was a game you should have watched live in Rizal Memorial stadium if you missed it!

Ceres started the game with plenty of confidence and looked positive going forward, however, the Sparks soon got to the pace of the game and worked hard to deny Ceres midfield player’s time on the ball to effectively release to the lively front pair.

Ceres right winger had pace and mobility and was able to get across the Sparks left fullback most times. On the right hand side, Sparks did a great job in making sure that they double up defenders to deny any quick penetration especially from Stephan Schrock who was busy, dangerous and was capable of creating something for himself or his team mate in the box.

Sparks had a great scoring chance when one of the strikers took on the Ceres defenders close to the half way line but they recovered and forced him to the corner line when he failed to shoot in the box.

Ceres misses penalty but Carli de Murga scored on the followup the first goal of the game at 35 minutes and the first half ended 1:0. Sparks made it 1:1 at 65 when the substitute Jinggoy Valmayor saw his shot go passed Ceres goalkeeper in a dramatic way.

Towards the end of the game, Sparks played with 10 men after one of their players was shone a straight red card.

Despite being one man down, one of the Sparks players got himself distracted by Ceres player around the half way line and did not respond well to the team defending and I believe that caused Ceres Carli de Murga scoring his second and the final goal of the day in the 90+5 minutes from a corner cross!

Sparks goalkeeper was confident when coming off his line and made some excellent saves. Ceres goalkeeper was great with his feet but the mistake he made in the Sparks only goal was embarrassing.

Both teams went home with lots of positives but there are rooms for improvement.

Ceres will need to be more clinical in their shooting and finishing around the box. There were lots of missed chances. Ceres team should master Schrock’s runs! He made some excellent runs but players failed to deliver that killer pass.

Sparks should shoot more from outside if they could not penetrate inside.

Fans from both teams were fabulous and I encourage other teams to get their fans to the stadium next games.

I enjoyed the game and I just put down this from what I saw without accurate statistics.

Global FC 7:0 Pasargad FC UFL Cup 2016

My view on #GlobalFC 7:0 trashing of #PasargadFC in the UFLCup2016!

While some people said the result was somewhat predictable because Pasargard was a weak opponent, I believe Global still had a lot to do to come out with victory in that game.

Pasargad FC was considered a weak team before the start not because they came to the field to kick the ball into their own goal. Those in the game know that making a weak team to play poorly is a task because when you play against them for a long time without scoring a goal, they develop in confidence.

Global were able to make sure that they scored 2 goals before 15 minutes and unsettled Pasargad throughout the duration of the game.

Global knew that when a team is weak, it means if you put pressure on them, they will give the ball away easily! They did this perfectly well in making sure that Pasagard did not have the ball for a long time.  They were rampant in their marking and the game was played mostly at Pasargads half but there were key moments when they tried to break into Global’s defensive third but the two central defenders were Physically strong and technically sound to handle the Pasargad attackers.

Some key individuals in Pasargad team had a great game but some did not have the technical ability and tactical knowledge to compete in a game against a team looking to break records in this 2016 UFL season.

What I enjoyed most about the game was the fact that Global did not slow down their tempo against Pasagard from the beginning of the game to the end.
