RUMOR: Ceres La Salle FC to join a Football League abroad

After few matches in the UFL cup 2016 Ceres La Salle FC is considering joining a football league in a different country in Asia.

Why would Ceres consider playing abroad?

First, they have assembled a very strong team mixed with some players that were already playing in a world-class league and they believe the competition in the UFL would not do the team and players any good in their AFC competition with only one or two teams capable of giving them a match.

Second, most of the players still have a long career ahead of them and playing in a league that does not have a high reputation would surely keep them away from joining bigger clubs in the future. In one of his interviews, Stephan Schrock was thinking of adjusting to the UFL level and this would affect him as a player after his loan spell, Ceres FC in the AFC competition and Azkals in the future.

Lastly, Ceres FC would make more money should they decide to join a league abroard. They would attract more world-class players in the club and would sale their players with bigger fee because of the value of the league.  Almost everyone in the Philippines would be Ceres fan and would draw more players in their youth level.

Should the league remain like the ongoing UFL Cup 2016 and Ceres FC decide to stay, it is almost certain that they would struggle in the international level and Azkals would suffer especially now that most of the Azkal players are playing in the league.
